A collection of sound, visual, and archival works by Lebanese artist Joe Namy titled:

“Until This Elegy Ends”
31 October 2024 – 31 March 2025
At The Main Building at Darat al Funun

In the wake of the ongoing genocidal war against Palestine and Lebanon, bringing with it destruction, displacement, and death, Joe Namy invites us to listen to what endures. Through sound and image, memory resurfaces, echoing the voices of people, land, and identities that refuse to be erased.
From the scorched olive orchards of Deir Mimas in southern Lebanon to melodies emerging from conversations with musicians from the Edward Said Conservatory, the works bear witness to survival, offering stories and legends that persist despite attempts to sever them.

We invite audiences to engage with sound and image as vessels of continuity, preserving the bonds between people and land. In this context, echoes are not merely remnants of the past but embodiments of the living forces that actively shape what is yet to come.
