ضوضاء المدينة كفن صوتي 

الثلاثاء 4 تموز 2023 الساعة 6:30 مساءً في المبنى الرئيسي لدارة الفنون 

غالبًا ما يرتبط وصف ضوضاء المدن بالإزعاج والتشويش الصوتي، لكنها قد تُمثّل شكلًا من أشكال فنون الصوت، إذ يخلق المزج بين أمواج صوتية عشوائية وصاخبة سيمفونية حضرية فريدة بما تعكسه من طبيعة وديناميّة حياة المدن. 

يُركز هذا اللقاء على الضوضاء ضمن سياق فنون الصوت كوسيلة للاستكشاف والإبداع الفني، عبر استحضار الطاقة الخام للأصوات الحضرية والضوضاء والتلاعب بها ومزجها مع المداخلات الفنية المتعمدة بهدف صناعة تجارب سمعية غامرة ومثيرة للتفكير.

يارا مكاوي فنانة وباحثة تستلهم ممارستها الفنية في تكوين بريكولاجات صوتية من التدفق الدينامي للمراكز الحضرية والبنى التحتية الرئيسية للمدن. تهتم يارا بفلسفة العمارة والتاريخ الاجتماعي والأدب الفلسفي. ترتكز أعمال يارا على المحادثات الصوتية في خلق تفاعلات بصرية وتحويل الموجات الصوتية إلى أشكال مرئية، حيث تعتمد ممارساتها الفنية على الصوت كأداة أساسية لتحقيق مواد بصرية، كما تستكشف يارا التأليف الموسيقي الفلسفي من خلال ممارسات متعمقة تعكس البعد المفاهيمي لأعمالها. تعمل يارا حاليًا على تطوير عمل صوتي بالاستناد إلى أدب الفلسفة الصوفية ومنهج كتاب الموتى.

City Noise As Sonic Arts
Tuesday 4 July 2023 at 6:30 pm at the Main Building.

City noise can be viewed as a form of sound art, a composition of diverse and chaotic sonic waves that weave together to create a unique urban symphony. While noise is often associated with annoyance and disturbance, it can also be seen as an artistic expression of the vibrant and dynamic nature of city life.

This talk will focus on noise within the context of sound art, as a medium for creative exploration and a raw energy of urban sounds, blending noise with intentional interventions and manipulations to create immersive and thought-provoking auditory experiences.

As an artist and scholar, Yara Mekawei’s sonic bricolages draw inspiration from the dynamic flow of urban centers and the key infrastructure of cities. Being interested in the philosophy of architecture, social history, and philosophical literature, her work is based on sound as an essential tool of vision. The philosophy of her compositions is shaped by sophisticated practices that convey messages in the conceptual dimension to the public. She is currently working on a sonic composition based on the literature of the Sufi philosophy and the methodology of the Book of the Dead.
