Brief
In his latest exhibition, Tariq Dajani invites us to consider our relationship with the millennial Rumi olive trees. With their gnarled and twisted trunks, these ancient trees stand silently, steadfastly, sa’midoun, like ancient sentinels, keepers of memory, observers of time long gone. Dajani asks, “If these trees could speak, what might they say?”
في معرضه الجديد يدعونا طارق الدجاني إلى التفكير ملياً في علاقتنا بأشجار الزيتون الرومية. بجذوعها الملتوية والمتداخلة، تنتصب شجرة الزيتون بصمتٍ وثباتٍ مثل حراس الذاكرة وشهود العصر وتقلبات الزمان. فالأشجار ظلّت عل الدوام وثيقة الصلة بنشأتنا وذاكرتنا، وساهمت برمزيتها وعطائها السخي في ترسيخ علاقتنا مع بيئتنا ومجتمنا. يتساءل الدجاني: إذا كانت هذه الأشجار قادرة على التحدث، ماذا عساها أن تقول؟
